In-home nursing after surgery across Melbourne and Roxburgh Park, surgical wound review, drain and suture management, complication monitoring and recovery support, delivered in your own home.
Hospital stays are shorter than they used to be. People are discharged earlier, with more recovery still ahead of them, and often without anyone clinically trained checking in. Our registered nurses fill that gap.

inOne Healthcare
Most post-surgical complications do not appear in hospital. They appear on day four, day six, day nine, at home, where there is nobody trained to recognise them, and where the instinct is usually to wait and see rather than call.
Wound infections, haematomas, dehiscence, DVT symptoms, uncontrolled pain, nausea preventing hydration, medication confusion after discharge. All of these are far more manageable when caught early, and all of them are routinely missed for days.
Our Melbourne post-operative nurses visit during that window. We review the wound, check the observations, ask the questions people don't think to raise, and escalate to the surgical team or GP when something isn't right. Most of the time we confirm recovery is on track, which is worth something in itself, recovering at home is a lot less frightening when someone competent has looked at it.

What We Do
Assessment and dressing of surgical wounds, monitoring for infection and dehiscence, and management of wounds that are not closing as expected.
Drain management and removal, suture and staple removal, and dressing management, all in line with your surgeon's instructions.
Clinical observations, infection screening, pain and nausea review, and early identification of problems that need escalation to your surgical team or GP.
Nursing support for people discharged early, living alone or with limited support at home, so recovery happens safely rather than by luck.

Make a ReferralPost-operative referrals are time-critical. Tell us the discharge date at referral and we will prioritise accordingly.
Simple Process
Patients, families, surgeons and surgical rooms, hospital discharge planners, GPs, aged care providers and support coordinators can all refer. Referring before the operation is ideal, care can then be scheduled for the day after discharge.
One of our nursing team calls you to gather the detail, the surgery performed, the discharge date, your surgeon's instructions, whether drains, sutures or staples need attention, and who is at home to help. We confirm funding and schedule the first visit around your discharge.
Your referral is allocated to a Melbourne Registered Nurse with post-operative and wound experience relevant to the surgery.
The nurse reviews the wound, completes observations, reconciles medications, checks safety and mobility in the home, and confirms the recovery plan with you.
Visits continue at the frequency the recovery requires, including drain, suture and staple removal at the times your surgeon has specified.
Progress is reported to your surgeon and GP, and our nursing input ends once recovery is established, or continues if a wound needs longer.

Who Benefits
Post-operative nursing at home is valuable for anyone recovering from significant surgery, and close to essential for some people:
Coordinated Care
We follow the discharge instructions from your surgeon rather than substituting our own plan, and we escalate to the surgical team when something falls outside them. Where drains, sutures or staples are to be removed, we work to the timeframe your surgeon has specified.
You receive clear written reporting, and so does your GP and, where appropriate, your surgeon. We welcome referrals from public and private hospital discharge planners, surgical rooms, transition care services and GPs across Melbourne.

Local Presence
Our clinic is based in Roxburgh Park, and we deliver a significant volume of post-operative nursing across Melbourne's northern suburbs, Craigieburn, Greenvale, Broadmeadows, Meadow Heights, Mickleham, Kalkallo, Epping, Mill Park, Glenroy, Coburg and the surrounding corridor.
Post-operative timing is unforgiving: the first visit needs to happen within a day or two of discharge, not the following week. Being based in Melbourne's north means we can usually attend quickly across the northern suburbs, including for people discharged from Northern Hospital Epping and the private hospitals serving the corridor. In-clinic appointments at Roxburgh Park are also available for wound review once you are mobile enough to travel.
Service Area
Our nurses provide post-operative home visits across all Melbourne suburbs, with our clinic based in Roxburgh Park in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
